Happy Saturday! I hope yours was special
I know for many people this is your fave day of the week.
I wanted to share a recent purchase with you.
Ooh!
My pack a day habit necessitated an online purch of 36 boxes of tofu. Even with shipping, this meant each box cost $1.52! It’s a good deal.
It’s been really hot this week – 70-80 degrees! We didn’t want to eat hot food some nights, so I froze part of my cooked stuff for Rob to have as lunches. Then I enjoyed several salads like this one:
With cauliflower, homemade balsamic, celery, broc, and nooch. Plus lots of pepper! I loooooove pepper
Although I didn’t make it to the gym once this past week
, I put my swiss ball to good use by resting my legs on top of it under the table.
It was soooooo comfy!
And here is my fave way to enjoy those packages of Mori-Nu:
With pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, stevia, and vanilla, all blended with a stick blender. I LOVE it! It’s like a denser version of pudding.
Lastly, Rob made himself a pretty genius dessert the other night and wanted to share it with ya’ll.
Whoa. It’s a toasted peanut butter and honey sandwich with a caramel-filled chocolate bar in the middle!
Pretty amazing.
I love his attitude. Total pleasure seeker!
Have a gorgeous night!

That’s the first kind of tofu I ever “made” for myself at home!
That looks like Ari’s kind of sandwich. He’s been known to smear (Skippy) peanut butter on top of a ($3) candy bar (from Europe) and eat it straight. Men.

Holy tofu! I thought I had a lot with my 4 boxes of the Mori Nu good stuff in my pantry–you’ve clearly got me beat though. What are some of your other fave silken tofu recipes?
Posted by Erin on November 9, 2009 at 8:58 pm
Honestly, I don’t branch out much – I haven’t tried it as fake ricotta or anything – but I LOVE it in smoothies and as pudding

Love your box of ‘fu. You don’t mess around and I adore that.
You’re as sweet as that pumpkin puddin’

Robs dessert rocks! I think he needs his own recipe page, haha.
That’s a lot of tofu, but what a steal!

That sandwich looks delicious. And I go through tofu far too fast too :/ What is the difference between that brand and Nasoya? I know nothing about tofu so I just get the Nasoya Extra Firm. I like it and am trying to be more adventurous in using it.
Posted by Erin on November 9, 2009 at 8:59 pm
I’m not familiar with Nasoya! This is the silken kind that doesn’t have to be refrigerated, so it’s suer convenient and really creamy
Great for pudding, pasta dishes like manicotti, etc. SO good!

I’m so mad that I can’t have tofu anymore
I used to love eating that tofu pudding!
Rob’s dessert looks mouth-watering. I want it! I think I’m going to re-create it using AB + Agave + Dark Chocolate. Mmm.

I gotta admit, that dessert of Rob’s would totally turn my crank, too!!!

please tell me you are in favor of polygamy ’cause I kind of want to marry Robbie for his sick dessert making skillz.
enjoy the ‘fu, snookums!

Holy tofu! You’ll never run out again! Or at least for the next 36 days..woo!
Your puddin looks mad good but of course a chocolate bar in a sandwich goes into a category all of its own.

Yo’ man’s sandwich sounds divine. Yo MAN sounds divine!!! Hahahahah, I kid!
Glad you got such a tofu deal!! I miss tofu-topped salads, baked tofu and tofu stir-frys so so much!! I still gotta try it in it’s blender form though, too

Dang that is a lot of tofu! And I’ve always wanted to try one of your amazing tofu pudding creations. Looks amazzzing
Haha, and I LOVE that sandwich idea. Maybe a little too decadent for me though!
Posted by lowandbhold on November 9, 2009 at 10:45 am
You can never have too much ‘fu! Love it. Rob’s dessert sounds amazing. He could probably sell those to the masses. It’s right up the arena of fair food!
Posted by Menden @ Skinny Menny on November 9, 2009 at 10:56 am
I would totally love to try Rob’s dessert idea…genius!
Posted by Diana (Soap & Chocolate) on November 9, 2009 at 12:38 pm
There’s no way that dessert sandwich is anything but swoon-worthy, but considering the source, I guess we should expect nothing less, right? Or so I hear.
Posted by Brittany on November 9, 2009 at 4:19 pm
I think that fu was an awesome purchase. Cheaper and more convenient than buying it every week.
Rob’s the man!
Posted by Brandi on November 9, 2009 at 6:54 pm
wow – what a load of ‘fu! I love it
You can tell Rob if I’m ever in the neighborhood, I expect one of those sandwiches AND your pudding – yum!
Posted by MarathonVal on November 9, 2009 at 7:44 pm
I love that you can order bulk tofu… I would never have thought of that!! I love that brand too, since it doesn’t have to be refrigerated
I love to make tofu pudding too, but I especially love the chocolate mousse variety! So good!
Posted by Rose on November 10, 2009 at 8:57 am
Buying tofu in bulk sounds like a fantastic idea. I also love your big ole salad bowl by the computer with the chopsticks! I always think of you when I eat big salads
Posted by Marianne on November 14, 2009 at 11:00 pm
Holy ‘fu Batman! Totally makes sense to buy it in bulk though, because that is a great price. I haven’t had any of the mori-nu in ages. I just might need to bring it back.
And yes, Rob is genius with that sammy there. Mmmm, melty chocolate caramel sammy.
