Andrea: I should be embarrassed, but I’m not.

Tonight I went to my first ever Zumba class!  I’ve been hearing about it so much on the blogs, I had to try it out.  Luckily, Miss Kersten went with me so I had some support :)   I’ve never taken a dance class in my entire life unless you count pole dancing classes, which I don’t, because that just consists of touching your boobs and hanging upside down.  I’m pretty good at shaking it on the dance floor, but choreography is something my brain can NOT comprehend – my brain knows what the steps are, but my body just doesn’t follow.  I totally sucked at Zumba tonight, but I had so much fun and I can’t wait to go back next week!  My hope is that I’ll get better at it – my game plan is to get the footwork down, then incorporate the hips, then work on the arms.

As I prophesized in my previous post, I had a salad as my afternoon snack.  I really wanted anotehr chocolate chip cookie, but I passed them on my way to the work kitchen and made my salad.

About 30 seconds after finishing this salad, I scarfed 2 1/2 cookies.  Oopsies!

Dinner was quick and easy – TJs Indian food and couscous.  For the couscous, I added crushed almonds, spinach, coriander and garam masala.  I rarely make couscous and I don’t know why because it’s so quick.

I just had a little bit because I didn’t want it boucing around my stomach during class.  This is about a 1/4 cup of couscous and half the packet of Indian food.  I’m a little hungry right now, so I think I need to go in the kitchen and have a little snack – I see an apple and AB in my future.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Wednesday!

I’ve never tried Zumba either … honestly, I’m quite skerred of it. I’m not very “graceful”, as my hubby would say. I bop around like a pogo stick!!

  14. I must try this much talked about Zumba class… I guess that would involve being a member of a gym though. Oh well I’ll stick to my pathic little gym in my apartment building and prance around in my room and call it Zumba until then. I looove me some couscous and agree – if it’s so esy, why don’t I make it more? I think I just always see the brown rice and don’t think of it. Poor neglected couscous…
